The effect of the jet-lag and the altitude on Leila
On reaching the camp, Leila was dead tired. She slept but woke up in the middle of the night and could not sleep again. It was due to the jet-lag, the altitude and the time difference. She had a headache and Dr Hafez asked her to take a couple of headache pills from Amalia.
    The UNESCO support
Dr Hafez was going to Quenco for meeting. They were expecting a visit from the local UNESCO representative the next week. The UNESCO supports the project till the end of the year and they had to find something important to continue the support for the next year.
An unfriendly discussion between Leila and Amalia
Amalia, at the order of Dr Hafez, showed Leila the site. Amalia did not seem cordial. She pointed out that Leila came to Peru because Dr Hafez was a friend of her family. Leila asserted she came because of her experience. She had worked with Dr Hafez in the Valley of the Nobles in Luxor.
    The Site
The site was on top of a hill. There were huts and twenty people who worked there. Amalia pointed at a hill called “The Hill of the King” and said they might have found a tomb of a Chimu King. They found an entrance hall where she guessed the priests carried out their rituals.
Ramon finds a gold figure of a child
Ramon, one of the workers, shouted when he found a gold figure of a child. The Incas used to sacrifice children to please the Gods. Leila was affected greatly when she knew that man's life had no value for the Incas.
    Pablo and the Robbers
Ramon called Pablo and informed him about his discovery. Pablo worked for the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. Amalia introduced Leila to him. He spoke to her about the Inca civilisation and how robbers came to steal any of the Inca heritage.
An e-mail to Samira about the new discovery
Leila sent an e-mail to Samira. She told her that three days later, they broke through the wall. Dr Hafez tied a rope round Ramon’s waist and let him go down. At the bottom, Ramon saw human bones and pottery. A ladder was lowered. Ramon got out and the hole was shut up. Leila told her sister about Amalia who was unfriendly, perhaps because Leila was in charge of her team.
